    Ian Morrison - Artist Educator

    IanMorrison_Image2.jpg

I am an artist-educator currently completing the Professional Master of Education (PME) in Art and Design. This portfolio documents my evolving practice as both a teacher and an artist, reflecting a commitment to critical reflection, creativity, and lifelong learning. Through school placements, studio practice, and academic research—including an autoethnographic inquiry into the tensions between teaching and making—I explore how art education can foster meaningful connections between personal expression and pedagogical purpose. This space brings together selected teaching materials, student work, reflective writings, and artworks that shape my identity as a reflective, responsive, and research-informed art educator.

'A sculpture, a map, a photograph; all the forms of my work are equal and complementary. The knowledge of my actions, in whatever form, is the art. My art is the essence of my experience, not a representation of it'.
