    Artist-Educator

I am currently completing the Professional Master of Education (PME) in Art and Design at the National College of Art and Design (NCAD), where I am training to become a qualified post-primary art educator in Ireland. My academic background is rooted in Fine Art, with a focus on sculpture and material exploration, which continues to inform both my personal art practice and pedagogical approach.

Throughout the PME programme, I have undertaken extended school placements where I planned, taught, and assessed art and design curricula across Junior and Senior Cycle levels. These experiences have deepened my understanding of inclusive teaching, curriculum design, and the importance of reflective practice in education.

My professional role is shaped by a commitment to fostering creativity, critical thinking, and visual literacy in young people. I engage with educational research to enrich my practice, and my thesis explores the tensions and synergies between being an artist and a teacher through an autoethnographic and a/r/tographic lens.

As I move forward in my career, I am dedicated to developing as a responsive and research-informed educator who supports students’ creative voices while remaining connected to contemporary art practices.
